There are five religions in Indonesia. One of them, which has the biggest followers is Islam. The followers of Islam are called Muslims.
Allah has created jinn and mankind or people to worship Him. As the followers of Islam, Muslims must live according to the rules of life set down by Allah and His prophet, Muhammad SAW.
Every muslim must pray five times a day: at dawn, noon, afternoon, evening, and night. He or she prays facing Ka’ba in Mecca.
Every day a muadzin calls Muslim for five times to prayer. He calls them in a melodious Arabic chant. The words in English are as follows: God is the greatest. I bear witness that there is no God but Allah. I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Come to pray. Come to success. God is the greatest. There is no God but Allah.
After hearing the call or sermon, every Muslim should immediately take a prayer. On Friday there is a compulsory for male muslims to pray in a mosque and listen to a khatib or preacher give a speech to all people to be good Muslims. The name of this speech is khutbah.
Another obligation for Muslims in worshipping Allah is fasting. Once a year, every Muslim should fast during a fasting month called Ramadhan. So that they increase their devotion to Allah.
